The Aero Club Como was founded in 1930 in a location where it has an old tradition of water flying. The history of water flying on the lake of Lario (ancient name of the lake Como) begins in 1913, where the city of Como hosted a seaplane competition of international importance.

The Aero Club Como is the operator of the international seaplane base of Como and only water flying school in Europe.

Members of the Club can rent the seaplanes of the association fleet, for either short range flights or long trip in Europe and in the Mediterranean basin. Every year many foreign pilots stay in our city to learn the flying technique of seaplanes.

The Aero Club Como is a registered entity in the regional volunteer group of the "Protezione Civile" Civil protection or patrol and take part of different tasks in this field.

Como pilots are among the most estimated and knowledge in water flying technique at worldwide level and often are called to supervise and consulting seaplane operation in Italy and European countries.
