Aircraft use

Members of the Air Como Club have access to the greatest fleet of seaplanes and amphibians present in a single place in Europe. The airplanes are used for the flight school, for excursions in Italy, in Europe and the meditteranean region and in order to carry out tasks of Civil Protection.

The fleet of the Aero Club Como is constituted from seaplanes (that operate only on water) and amphibians (that operate on water are on land). The amphibians are hull aircraft or on floats.

Members pilots have the right to use all aircraft available if in good standing with the yearly club association fees and if meets the regulations of the Club.

Aircrafts can be used for :

  • Flight school
  • Ratings
  • Local flights (round robin)
  • Tranfer flights (cross country)
  • Demo and pleasure flights
  • Civil protection

Often aircrafts are used by experieced pilots for:

  • Advertising
  • Air shows
  • Movies and documentaries

Seaplanes are appealing as objects, it evokes adventures in far continents, it allows of living a shape of primordiale aviation, carrying out the operations far away from any aeronautical infrastructure, and it is however an object of extreme rarity. It has become an object-cult and is starring in many films and spot advertising.

Seaplanes of Como are no exception. First picture below, a Lake amphibian in waters of one of the bays of Myconos, in the Aegean sea, whereit has flown in order to shoot one spot advertising for the Japanese Nestlé.
